Do you do taster sessions?

Yes we offer a free taster session to new students.  Just let us know what day and class you’d like to attend.  You can book your session by filling in the form at this link – Book here

When do I need to pay my membership cost?

Current Students will pay this on their first session.  New students will need to pay on their 2nd class/day that they come and train.  As the 1st session will be there free trial.

This fee is due on an annual basis and is for insurance, Kudo/BJJ registration etc.

Can visitors come for classes?

All visitors are welcome.  Non-members (those who have not paid the £30 membership fee) can pay for individual classes at £8 (BJJ or Kudo) or an evening pass for £10 (BJJ & Kudo).

Martial Arts styles taught and gradings

Can I grade in Kickboxing?

Yes.  Mark who is a 5th Dan black belt in kickboxing will be doing regular gradings for members that would like to grade.

What gradings do you offer?

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kudo and Kickboxing for adults and Kudo and Kickboxing for kids.  Mark is a 2nd degree black belt in BJJ, 1st KYU in Kudo and 5th Dan black belt in Kickboxing.

If you would prefer to just train with us and not grade then this is absolutely fine too.

What if I just want to do Kickboxing?

Between 7.30pm and 8.30 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays we teach our kickboxing syllabus, but we will add Kudo/Sambo striking in as well which will encompass gripping the Gi and adding takedowns of strikes.

Competing

Do I have to change affiliation or compete for you to train in your classes?

No, although we love it when students represent our team, you can represent whichever team you want when competing.,

Do I have to compete?

Not at all. We support those that want to test their skills and progression by competing but its not required.  No matter what your goals are everyone is welcome.  Our students range form competitors to hobbyists to those that want to simply learn a new skill or get fit. 

Equipment

What if I don’t have any equipment?

For the first week you can borrow some gloves but you will be unable to spar until you have your own equipment.

What if I don’t have a Gi?

All our classes, Except Tuesdays 7.30pm – 9pm, require you to have a Gi/Judo/BJJ uniform.  For your first week we can work around it but you will need to purchase one.  We have a limited stock but you can also find some great seals on Amazon.  BJJ and Kudo Equipment (thefightcoach.co.uk)

What type of Gi should I wear for the classes?

For the BJJ classes you can wear any type of BJJ/Judo Gi.  We don’t require it to be a specific colour/type etc.

For the Kudo class you can wear any type of BJJ/Judo/Kudo Gi to train in but if you want to grade or compete in Kudo a specific type of Gi is required.  We can order these for you so please come and speak to us if you’d like one of these.
