When you pay the £30 joining fee which covers your insurance, registration and first evenings training, you will also get some kit. You will have the choice between boxing gloves, kickboxing shin pads or 4oz gloves. These gloves can be used for pad work in the kudo and kickboxing classes and for sparring (if your opponent is wearing a helmet).
